Grandma Veda Vee (Snyder) Venneberg:
Not much is known about Sir Giles Penn except that he fathered Sir Giles Penn, Jr. and Sir William Penn. Sir William Penn came to America and started a Quaker colony in what now is known as Pennsylvania. Sir Giles Penn, Jr. married Ann Taylor and had a son Carl Gabriel Penn. Carl married Lori Averey, moved to America and fought in the revolutionary war. They had a baby boy who they named James born in 1765. James Penn married Mary Majors and they had eleven children. Three of these eleven children were girls who married preachers. Seven of the boys became preachers. The other son, Edward M. Penn became a farmer. He married Caroline Mogill. They only had one child, a girl named Mary Elizabeth Penn, nicknamed Mae. Mary married James Edgar Snyder. James E. Snyder’s paternal grandparents owned a bar in Pennsylvania and later one in St. Louis. James and Mary had six children, Clara, Carl, Charles, Edith, and Ellen. Veda Vee Snyder was born on October 19, 1898 in Soldier, Kansas. Veda and Karl Edwin Venneberg grew up together as children and were childhood sweethearts. They were married in 1917.
Grandpa Karl Edwin Venneberg:
Fredrick Venneberg was born in Germany and married a woman named Mary. They moved to America around 1850. They bought a farm near Sheboygan, Wisconsin. They had a son named Edward Henry Venneberg in 1866. Fredrick moved his family to Havensville, Kansas where Edward grew to manhood. Edward Married Christena Lutz on August 27, 1893. )They a had three children; two boys Karl Edwin and Walter Fred, and one girl Rosie May. Christena died july 8, 1938. Karl was born July 22, 1896. Karl married Veda Vee Snyder and they moved to a farm in Hays Kansas. They had three children Karl, Jr., James Edward, and Mary Penn Venneberg

Grandma Goldie Marie (Smith) Carter:
Isaac H. Smith (died in1865 while serving for the army of the republic (The North) at Chattanooga, Tennessee of starvation and dysentery buried in Nashville National Cemetery) married Mercy |Ann Edison. Their son, Alonzo Edson Smith, married Lucinda Miller. They had four children; two boys, Francis Marian (born 6-4-1873 in Harrison, Mo. and died 12-25-1957) Lowell and two girls Sari and Nettie Smith. Francis married Margaret Ann Crane (born 5-14-1877 died 1952) on 6-4-1900 in New Hampton, Mo. They had three children; Newton Smith, Goldie Marie Smith (born 3-8-1903 in Medford Oklahoma, died April 11, 1971) and Eva Frances Smith (born July 5, 1914, died November 19, 1977.) Goldie Marie married (Madrid) Clair Carter on October 9, 1927.
Grandpa (Madrid) Clair Carter:
Frederick and Ann Batt came to America in 1848. Their daughter, Mary E. Batt married Charles M. Carter March 6, 1873. Mary and Charles Carter had fifteen children. Their ninth child Thomas Charles was born 12-20-1885. He married Eva Lena Burr on January 20,1903. They had two children Ida Marguite (born 10-25-1903 died 194?) and Madrid Clair (born 12-17-1905 died September 7, 1971). Clair married Goldie Marie Smith. They had three living children; Dean Clair (born June 18, 1931), Eva Lucille (born July 22, 1933), and Betty Ruth Carter (born July 11, 1937). Betty Ruth Carter married James Edward Venneberg August 24, 1954.
